Shielding & Avoidance

  Shielding From Electricity

There are specialist companies that deal with Electromagnetic Shielding. I have dealth with and can recommend LessEMF Inc. , based in the US. They have lots of information and shielding materials available as well as special devices for shielding computers and mobile phones.

If you know of any simular companies, please let me know!

  Chemical-Free Products

Healthy House provide a great service for chemical-free products. There homepage says: "We understand the symptoms of allergies, chemical sensitivity and electromagnetic stress and offer products that tackle allergy at source." Highly recomended!

  Electrosmog Detector

The Electrosmog Detector was designed by Powerwatch Director, Alasdair
Philips. This product is designed to start generating an audio output
at exactly the point where scientists are indicating that health effects
start to appear in the general population. The more noise...the more
exposure, simple as that. The idea is that ordinary people without a
scientific background can identify hotspots and learn how to avoid them.

Check it out at the Detect & Protect homepage

There is also microalert and trifield meter which is good for powerline EMF but not so sensitive for RF.

  Other Products

As far as my own personal experience goes, most special devices, pendants, and gizno's which are supposed to help alleiviate the harmful effects of electricity do not seem to work a great deal. Having said that, everyone is different, and what works for someone may not work for someone else.

Some other suggestions sent in which work are:

  • Gila Heat Control film (Home Depot and Lowes have it), not advertised for RF, but helps block some cell tower RF
  • Anti-static roll from ULINE
  • Aluminum mylar emergency thermal blankets (on amazon.com)
  • USB keyboard/mouse to keep distance from laptops
  • TCO compliant monitor (LCD panels usually much less powerline EMF than CRTs)

Other products which reportedly don't work are:

  • AegisGuard (failed to see effect with electrosmog detector test)
  • QLink - anything suggesting mystical powers is suspicious

Again, if you know of a product which does work, please let me know!
