This article provides evidence for adverse health effects from electricity within the environment.

 Cancer

IT IS A KNOWN FACT THAT IF YOU HAVE CANCER IN YOUR BODY, ELECTRICITY WILL CAUSE IT TO GROW. That was proven by Dr. Wendell Winters of the University of Texas who had been contracted by the New York Department of Health to investigate the effects of 60-Hz fields on cells of the immune system. He reported that cancer cells increased their rate of growth by several hundred percent with only a 24 hour exposure, and that, apparently, this growth rate was thereafter permanently maintained. Further work carried on outside the confines of the New York State Study by Winters and his colleague, Dr. Jerry Phillips of the Cancer Research and Treatment Center in San Antonio, Texas, led to several publications in reputable, peer-reviewed, scientific journals. At this time, the scientific evidence is absolutely conclusive: 60 Hz magnetic fields cause human cancer cells to permanently increase their rate of growth by as much as 1600 percent and to develop more malignant characteristics.

  Insomnia

You are more likely to suffer from depression if there is a high background magnetic field level in your house. This is backed up by 2 scientific studies.

1) Davis (Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre in Seattle Washington), found that low-level MFs can reduce the nocturnal release of melatonin in women. While the effect was small, it occurred at milliGauss levels and followed a dose-response trend. Davis called the findings "intriguing" given the "very low level of exposure" which reflects "real-world" conditions, but cautioned that the biological significance of the results is not known at this time. Davis stated, "This is the first time we are seeing evidence that relatively small changes in magnetic fields at night can be associated with decreases in melatonin levels that night among humans living in a normal environment"41Microwave News, p. 174 Nov/Dec 1997

  Depression

You are more likely to suffer from depression if there is a high background magnetic field level in your house. This is backed up by 2 scientific studies.

1) The first found a higher incidence of depression & suicide amongst people who live in homes with magnetic field levels of 1mG or higher. [1]

2) The second examined 6,000 people living in apartment blocks, it found that those people living in apartments near the main electrical cable running up through the block had a higher incidence of depression. These apartments had a background magnetic field of 3.5mG compared to the 'normal' 1.6mG. In some cases the prevalence of depression was as much as 82% higher than in the 'normal' apartments. [2]
