ElectroSensitivity is a modern condition, with sufferers all around the world who are 'sensitive' to sources of electricity such as computers, lighting, mobile phones & masts, and so on. The symptoms, which can be wide-ranging, can include burning & itching skin, headaches, fatigue, inability to concentrate - in fact, you name it and it's probably been linked to exposure to electricity at some point (see the Human Model).
However, most countries (with the exception being Sweden) still don't recognize it as an official condition and brush it off as psychological, imagination or 'a touch of stress'.
But as more and more people become affected, it becomes harder to ignore. The problem won't just go away!
Government's & organizations around the world are starting to stand up and take notice. The World Health Organization have set up an ongoing project to find out why, who and how people are affected. And in Nov 2005 the UK governments Health protection Agency published a report acknowledging that ElectroSensitivity is a real condition with real sufferers.
It's not an easy subject. The way Electromagnetic fields interact with the body are incredibly complex, and with so many vested interests (chemical companies, electrical manufacturers, mobile phone companies etc.), and with so many compensation claims and workplace changes around the corner if it gains widespread recognition, it is set to be a long time before the public find out the real truth about the electricity in our environment.
I hope you find this website enlightening & useful. I am on the end of the email to answer any questions.
